What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.

1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat.

2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on.

3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over himself.  My car smells terrible!  It’s a bad combination of tee tee and throw up…

4.  Tonight Paul was giving Greyson and Piper a bath.  Piper thought that would be a great time to go #2!  Greyson got pretty freaked out about the whole thing.  Piper did not seem to notice.

Even with all that, I still count it a great weekend.  Our children are awesome.  They definitely throw us some curve balls every now and then, but what stories would we tell otherwise.

  1. Too funny!!! ;) Of course, it is always so much funnier when it isn't happening in your family, right?

    Much love,

  2. It is pretty funny! This is one of those stories I had to write down. Otherwise, with my terrible memory, I would not remember it a year from now.

Day 6

insert Guinness pictures from day 1

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)
