St. Jude Evening Under the Star Charity Event

Paul and I had the great opportunity to volunteer for a St. Jude event at Cowboys Stadium.  Our role was to shag balls for folks who wanted to attempt to kick a field goal or throw a ball into the end zone.  We arrived about 30 minutes before the event began so we got to play around also.

I had an awesome time trying, but my kicking attempts were pathetic!  While the “paying guests” were playing, I spent a lot of time catching 30-40 yard passes.  I would say I was pretty good at that, kind of surprised myself.

Paul did great at kicking!  He made a 25 yard field goal and several other attempts also!  Check out the video on Facebook!

The event attire was “Cowboy Chic.”  When I was rounding up our clothing for the evening Greyson asked, “Are you guys going to your party dressed as Woody and Jesse?”  Too cute!

By the way, these awesome boots I was wearing were my Mema’s, too bad they hurt after running around for a few hours so I changed into my Sketchers.

The event also included dinner, Silent Auction, Live Auction, and a concert by Jo Dee Messina.

Day 6

insert Guinness pictures from day 1

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
