First Fruits Offering and Ground Breaking

Our church (FBC Allen) is building a new Children’s building to allow us to continue to reach more families.  With the new building comes a capital campaign which is called Generation to Generation.  All members of the church are part of the campaign, including the pre-school children.  Since Paul and I teach Greyson’s class on Sunday mornings, I got to be a part of their giving (Paul was out of town for work).  During the worship service, the kids got to go to “Big Church” and put the money they had collected to go toward their project, a large aquarium in the new building.

The yellow box the children are standing on depicts the location where the aquarium will sit in the new building.

A Ground Breaking Ceremony was also held that day.  The church gave each child a play hardhat and shovel to play in the dirt a little.

This was a rewarding day for our church and for me.  As a member of the Building and Land Committee, we have been working on this for about a year and a half.  It has been fun and I look forward to seeing it completed.  This will be a great building to continue to serve God in.

Day 6

insert Guinness pictures from day 1

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
