Saying Goodbye to Our First Home

There were so many great memories in our first home!  I was definitely ready to move, but saying goodbye still was emotional.

Here are some fond memories that are attached to this house.

Paul and I got married December 21, 2002.  We closed on this house at the end of January 2003.  We were so excited to be newlyweds and getting our first home in such a short period.

We had some time left on the lease at the apartment across town so we spent time fixing up the house before moving in.  Here is a picture of Paul after spilling paint, luckily we had a drop cloth down.

Paul also painted the garage floor with a shop type finish and installed blinds throughout.  I also remember having a picnic on the floor for Valentine’s Day before moving in.  This is the only time we have used our wedding china.  We have got to pull that stuff out!

Paul’s cousin (James) helped us build on a covered back porch.

We extended the front flower beds.  Our neighbor Reggie was a huge help.  She mentored me (too bad I was not a better mentee) in gardening and even helped dig out the beds.  We will miss our great neighbors!

Bella was apart of our family for most of the time we lived in the house.

We had a boat for a while.  That was fun, but we are happy we sold it when I was pregnant with Greyson.

We brought Greyson home from the hospital and raised him for his first 4 1/2 years in this home.

Many great memories of this home and I look forward to continuing to make great memories in our next home!

Home is where friendships are formed and families are grown, where joy is shared and true love is known, where memories are made and seeds of life are sown.

Here is how it looked when I did my final walkthrough.

Day 6

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
