Greyson Gets His Tooth Fixed

In August 2009 Greyson was playing at Marcia’s house, hit his tooth on the floor, and broke it.  I am amazed at how falling on your mouth is something that a child can inherit.  From what I understand, Paul injured his mouth countless times as a child.  Greyson is carrying it on…  Anyway, we took him to the dentist the next day and it was purely an aesthetic injury.  He was too young at that time to get it fixed without being put under so we decided to wait a while.  Well – the time had come.  He was now mature enough to get it fixed.

He was such a good sport!  Dr. Lisi was very impressed with how well he did.  I am sure the laughing gas did not hurt anything.  He got to keep the orange piece below that the gas went through.  It smelled nice and fruity.  They called it a “piggy nose.”

After the procedure we had quite a day.  We went to eat lunch at his favorite place – Taco Bell.  He loves cheese roll-ups!  Then we went to my office so I could do a little work and later the kids went with me to a Building and Land Committee meeting at church.  Everywhere we went he was showing off his tooth that he got fixed at the dentist.

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
