Greyson’s First Sleepover

Ryder spent the night with Greyson!  It was Greyson’s first sleepover and they had a blast.  After a game night at church, Brent and Crystal had a 9:30 softball game so Ryder came home with us.  They were both super excited and a long way from being able to lay down and go to sleep.  We started the wind down process with a movie – UP.  After watching that for about 30 minutes they were looking sleepy on the couch (about 10:00).  I got them in bed, turned the lights out, and left the room.  About 10 minutes later I went to check on them and listened around the corner.  They were whispering, giggling, and playing with the remote to the Lightning McQueen car which shines a red light.  I left them.  At 10:30 Crystal called to see if they were asleep.  When I went to check they were still whispering and giggling.  I told them if they did not go to sleep Ryder’s mom was going to come get him.  Greyson immediately laid down and said “I will go to sleep right now Mom.  Ryder, go to sleep right now!”  Very cute – he did not want Ryder to leave.  I never heard another word from them :)

Here is a picture of them the next morning.  They got up about 7:00 and hit the floor running.  We had pancakes about 8:00 and Crystal came and picked them up later that morning.  It was a very successful first sleepover!

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
