4th Birthday Party

Greyson’s 4th birthday was an action packed day!  It just happened to fall on the same day as his first soccer game so after the game, we had a party at our home.  The main attraction was a blow up water slide.  After the game – water definitely needed to be part of the attraction.  It was so incredibly hot that day.  The kids had a ball.

Warning – this is picture overload.  I have drastically reduced from the 150 shots Paul’s dad took, but there are still quite a few.

After all the kids left, Paul and I went for a slide.  Great times.

Piper actually slept through the party.  She came home and took a nap after the soccer game.  She woke up about the time everyone left so we were going to let her splash around a little, but she was not too interested.

Greyson obviously enjoyed the opening of gifts.

My attempt at portraits

So I needed a recent picture of Piper to include in her birthday invitation so I thought I would try to take them on my own.  Of course Greyson did not want to be left out.   When Greyson was little I thought I could take some decent pictures, but I have not had much luck with Piper.  Here is the final birthday invitation.  You can tell the two on the left were taken by a professional :)

What a weekend – Disaster x4 – Parenthood at its best

So maybe disaster is a strong word, but we definitely had four hiccups.  1.  We kicked the weekend off on Friday evening with a drive to a work BBQ Cook-off in West Arlington.  I underestimated traffic to say the least.  While on the highway, Greyson started saying “I have to go Tee Tee real bad!  Right now!  I have to go!  Right now!”  We tried to convince him he could hold it, but were obviously not successful.  He went in his car seat. 2.  After finding a local Target to buy Greyson some new clothes, we hit the road again to the BBQ.  When we arrived I started getting Greyson’s clothes changed and Paul went to get Piper out.  Well – she had an accident also.  Her diaper had leaked all over her pants.  She went to the BBQ (with my clients and co-workers) without any pants on. 3.  On the way to church this morning I shared my granola bar with Greyson.  He took too big a bite and threw up all over hims...
